Ever since I was little i could talk and see the dead. Both euginia long and watkins are there along with an older woman and a young child about 7 that are still in the home.

My first encounter was at 13 doing the yearly February kawanis breakfast. I was sent up stairs to retrieve supplies and I somehow wound up at the front of the home where the spiral stair case use to be. Leading to the top 4 bedrooms before the renovations occurred. I wound up in a room that had some personal artifacts of the family of the home. I was locked in the room and this room has an original knob that had to be unlocked and locked from the outside. I saw a young woman and she was desperately asking for my help. At 13 I had no idea what to do. Even as a child early in age I had no idea. She described a trinket that was gold and had a silouhuet of a mother and child with a blue jewel inlay and on the back initials were inscribed. I never seen it but it was to buried with her and it never was.

After that someone hears my screams and let me out. I gave them the utensils and such and I ran downstairs. When I looked i saw a woman dangling from the staircase. Scared I ran out to the bar room used a pay phone and called my mother to pick me up.

The last encounter was in 2012 at 19. A friend and I went around the old Carrollton cemetery BC we were spirit searching. Trying to get them to move on but some of them are still caught here not able to move into the light. We drove by the mansion and in the top large room window I saw a woman and child. The room was radiating like a white light peering through. No.cars in the lot and nobody was there. When I looked back the woman and cgikd was gone.

I would love to finally be able to go back and communicate BC there is still a message to be told. You and I are cousins, as I am the g-granddaughter of LC Mandeville. And, as family, I'd like to provide some more accurate details than some of those you have come across in your research. Myths and legends abound and never die in the internet! Here are some facts you'll want to have:

The LC Mandeville Family had 5, not 6, children. There are 6 children pictured in the photo, a copy of which I have, because Mrs. LCM's (Carrie Richardson Mandeville) sister Gabriel Richardson, is included. All persons in the photo are, L to R, Nell (my grandmother Eleanor "Nell" Louise Mandeville), Mrs. LC Mandeville (Caroline "Carrie" Louise Richardson Mandeville), Gabriel Richardson, Emma Camilla Mandeville, Mary Eugenia Mandeville, Leroy Clifton Mandeville Jr,, LC Mandeville, and John Appleton Mandeville.

Your ancestor, Eugenia Mandeville Long, was the 8th child of Appleton and Mary Ann Stewart Mandeville, not the 7th. LC Mandeville was the 7th child. (I have the complete line of Appleton and Mary Ann Mandeville, and would be happy to share it with you.)

By the way, of interest to you might be that your Eugenia's nickname was "Tott". I have the photo you of her pictured above, and on the back is written "Aunt Tott" in the handwriting of my grandmother Nell.

Eugenia and Edgar Long did not have 2 children. They had only one: Eugene Mandeville Long, born 3/12/1880. I don't know who Rufus Samson Long is; although, Eugenia's sister also married a Long but I don't see him in there. More likely, husband Edgar re-married and had another son. At any rate, Eugenia and Edgar Long had only one son, Eugene. Her obituary states, "She leaves a child, not quite a year old." And, knowing that Eugene was just under a year old when Eugenia died, it is not likely the case that she died from complications of childbirth. In fact, her obituary also states, "Mrs. Long had been sick for several weeks."

As for the second Eugenia (the daughter of LC Mandeville), she did not die suddenly. Her obituary, shown above, indicates that she "became seriously ill shortly after her marriage and finally, when there was no longer hope for her recovery, she was brought" to the Mandeville home to be cared for in her last days. Since she married 11/1/1914 and died 5/22/1915, she was ill approximately 5-6 months. It was not a sudden death. Cancer was the cause, not TB or pneumonia or anything sinister or gossipy. She didn’t commit suicide as some internet sites suggest.

I'm happy to share more family info with you. Ours is a fascinating heritage!

You can also connect with me through FindAGrave.com. I manage some of the Mandevilles on there, including LC Mandeville and your Eugenia Mandeville Long.
PattonHamerskyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18081547836313247601noreply@blogger.com
